Men's Ice Hockey Falls to Shippensburg in DVCHC Action

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team fell to Shippensburg University in conference play on Saturday night.

Ray Norfo led the Lions with 2 goals, while Blake McCurdy and Dustin Synnestvedt each recorded an assist.

The Lions started the game off strong, scoring 46 seconds into the game when Norfo, assisted by McCurdy and Synnestvedt, found the back of the net off of a rebound. The Raiders tied the game at the 10:49 mark. With a Bryn Athyn player in the box for slashing, Shippensburg scored at the 9:13 mark to take a 2-1 lead. Three minutes later, the Lions answered when Norfo scored his second goal of the game unassisted.

During the second period, momentum switched back and forth between the Lions and the Raiders, leaving the period scoreless, and the game tied at 2-2. Bryn Athyn outshot Shippensburg 20-13.

In the third period, Shippensburg picked up their offense, and went on to win the game.

The Lions return to the ice Friday, February 3rd against conference opponent Widener University. The puck is set to drop at 8:00pm.
