Men's Ice Hockey Drops to the Pride

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team fell to Widener University 7-3 in Friday night action.

Blake McCurdy led the Lions with two goals. Johnny Walker recorded one goal, while Daniel Triesler notched two assists.

The Lions scored in the first period at the 11:41 mark when Triesler passed the puck into the slot and connected with McCurdy who found the back of the net.

During the third period, Bryn Athyn started to chip away at the Pride's lead. At the 6:33 mark, Triesler found McCurdy who backhanded the puck into the net for his second goal of the game. Less than a minute later, Walker scored for the Lions off a rebound.

Bryn Athyn played tough until the last whistle.

During the first two periods, Matthew Bartalini recorded 33 saves between the pipes. Steve Cappas recorded 10 saves in goal during the third period.

The Lions head on the road Saturday February 4th to face conference opponent Shippensburg University. The game is slated for 5:30pm.
