Field hockey falls to Wells 3-1

AURORA, N.Y. – The Bryn Athyn College field hockey team suffered a 3-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference loss to Wells College Sunday afternoon.

The Express (1-9, 1-1 NEAC) did all of its damage in the opening 35 minutes.

Chloe Marcus got things started at the 17:50 mark with a goal from six yards at the right post. Kelly Mason set Marcus up with a pass from the right wing. Wells scored their next two goals on penalty corners. On the first corner, Ivy Cromp deflected home a Nicole Sales shot she took from the top of the arc at 24:19. Just over two minutes later, Kate Wells collected the ball in a scramble and passed it off to Mollie Walts, who tapped the ball in to make it 3-0.

Bri Lennox got the Lions (1-8, 0-2 NEAC) on the board at the 57:27 mark with her fifth goal of the year. Lennox was set up at the right post with a pass from Payton Boler.

Macey Mitchell had two saves in the loss for Bryn Athyn. Allison Solomon made five stops in the Wells net.

Bryn Athyn's next game comes on Saturday, Oct. 7 against Sweet Briar at 1 p.m.
