Men's Lacrosse Drops Last Game of the Season

Houghton, NY. - The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team fell to Houghton College 14-4 on Saturday afternoon action.

Christian Blair led the Lions with two goals. Senior Dana Ayers and Cade Gurney scored a goal a piece. 

The Highlanders got on the board first with 9:25 left in the first quarter. The Lions responded two minutes later Ayers scores off the left side of the crease from James Lindrooth. Houghton picked up the tempo and scored five goal in the first to take a commanding lead.

Houghton scored two goals to start the second quarter. Blair scored from top of the crease off a pass from Ayers. Three minutes later, Highlanders scored to build their lead back to 9-2. Gurney scored a minute later off pass from Blake Cole to chip away at the Highlander lead. Houghton scored again before the quarter is over going into the half break.

Blair scored his second goal in the third quarter and held the Highlanders to only one goal in the third quarter. 

Houghton scored three goals in the fourth to finish the game 14-4.

Pat Funchion led the defense with five ground balls. Terrence Johnson and Gurney picked up four grounded balls a piece.

Nelson Lopez made 14 saves in net for the Lions.
