Men’s Lacrosse Falls on the Road to Bethany (WV) in OT 12-11

Luke Frazier led the Lion's attack with 5 goals and 2 assists.  Terrence Johnson notched 3 assists.  Kieran Ragan and Mike Donnelly each recorded 2 goals.  Scott Witmyer and Colin Rogers notched a goal a piece.

The first quarter was a back and forth affair with Bryn Athyn and Bethany trading two goals a side, Ragan and Frazier scored their first goals in the trade off .  Bryn Athyn got the better of the quarter though with Frazier scoring his second goal 25 seconds before the horn.  The second quarter brought much of the same with Bryn Athyn and Bethany trading three goals each before Bryn Athyn got the upper hand with Rogers scoring his lone goal.  Regan, Frazier, and Donnelly would each score in the quarter.  The half ended with Bryn Athyn up 7-5.

The third quarter was relatively uneventful with Bethany scoring two goals and Frazier gathering the lone Bryn Athyn goal.  Things heated up in the fourth quarter.  Donnelly scored his second goal of the night on a man up opportunity to put Bryn Athyn ahead 9-7.  Bethany scored three unanswered goals to take the lead 10-9 with 4:26 left in the fourth.  Frazier then scored his fifth goal to tie the game.  Witmyer scored his lone goal to give Bryn Athyn the lead 11-10.  Bethany would score the game-tying goal with seven seconds left in regulation.

Overtime would end in heartbreaking fashion for the Lions with Bethany scoring as the ball bounced just inside the post.

Rob Moran had 11 saves in net for the lions.

Bryn Athyn returns to action tomorrow, Saturday the 12th on the road against Franciscan.
