Men's Lacrosse Picks Up Road Win Against Franciscan

Steubenville, OH – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse picked up a road win on the road against Franciscan University in Saturday afternoon action.

Travis McCurdy led the Lions with six goals, four assists and picked up eight ground balls. Kieran Ragan scored five goals. Luke Frazier put up three goals and one assist.

The Baron's got on the board first with a goal four minutes in for the first period. Frazier tied the game, assisted by McCurdy with 9:30 left in the period.  Franciscan answered with two back-to-back goals to retake the lead 45 seconds later.  The Lions ended the first period with four goals unanswered goals to take 5-3 lead.

Frazier started the second period scoring to extend the Lion lead 6-3, 48 seconds in.  Baron's scored at 12:56 to chip away at the Bryn Athyn lead to two.  Both teams exchanged goals to bring the game within one with the Lions leading 10-9. 

Franciscan tied the game at 10-10 at the start of the third period.  Bryn Athyn scored four goals, taking advantage on a Baron man down to build the Lion's lead to 15-11.  Baron's scored two late goals to bring the game within three goals, 16-13 going into the last period of the game. 

Lions scored three goals in the fourth to build their lead, led by two goals from McCurdy to win 19-14. 

The Lions head on the road to face Mt. St. Mary's Thursday afternoon at 5 pm.
