Durkin named to 2018 U.S. Men's Lacrosse Training Team

SPARKS, Md. – After three days of tryouts at the United Stated Lacrosse headquarters, Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse head coach Tucker Durkin was one of 49 players named to the Team USA's training team for the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Men's World Championship Tuesday. The FIL World Championship will take place July 12-21, 2018 in Israel.

With his selection to the training team, Durkin will be a part of Team USA for the second consecutive FIL Men's World Championship. Durkin played in all seven games as a defenseman during the 2014 FIL Men's World Championship in Denver, finishing the tournament with 12 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers. Durkin and Team USA finished as the runner-up.

Prior to the 2018 FIL Men's World Championship, Durkin will return to US Lacrosse headquarters for training over Labor Day Weekend and then take part in the Team USA Fall Classic on Oct. 6-9 and the Team USA Spring Premier in early January.

Durkin is going into his third season as the head coach of the Lions. In his first two seasons, Bryn Athyn has posted a 17-13 overall record, 11-6 against the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). In 2017, Bryn Athyn was 8-8 overall and had nine players earn a place on the All-NEAC team.
