MARCY, N.Y. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team ended its regular season on a high note, defeating SUNY Poly 9-6 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match to earn its sixth straight victory Saturday afternoon on Wildcat Field.
Bryn Athyn finishes the regular season with an 8-6 overall record and will be the number two seed in the NEAC Tournament, that gets underway on Wednesday, May 2, thanks to a 7-1 conference record.
SUNY Poly ends its season at 9-5 overall, 4-4 against the NEAC.
Brad DePasquale turned in his best performance of the season as he made 17 saves.
Frame snapped a 2-2 tie with 3:13 left in the first quarter with his first goal of the afternoon, assisted by Coyle. Then, Bryn Athyn pulled away in the second quarter by outscoring SUNY Poly 3-0 to lead 6-2 at halftime. Frame, Flynn, and Leech all scored during the quarter. DePasquale played a huge role in keeping the Wildcats—who owned a 14-7 shot advantage—off the board in the second, stopping all five shots on goal he faced.
Carr pushed the margin to a match-high five with a goal just 39 seconds into the third quarter. SUNY Poly scored three of the next four goals to trim the Bryn Athyn lead to 8-5. Leech had the Bryn Athyn goal.
With the score sitting at 8-6, Frame put the game away with his third goal of the afternoon, coming with 4:08, to restore Bryn Athyn's three-goal cushion.
Daniel Rivie and Charles Rosaschi scored two goals each for the Wildcats, while Edward Rosaschi and Ryan Mead both added one.
Jared Laird finished the match with 11 saves for SUNY Poly.
The Wildcats outshot the Lions 41-30.
