Lions tabbed fourth in CSAC men's lacrosse preseason coaches poll

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team was picked fourth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll that was released by the conference office Tuesday. The voting was conducted by the conference's seven head coaches.

Bryn Athyn received 28 out of 49 points in the poll. The Lions return 12 players, including four All-North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) selections, from the 2018 team that went 9-7 overall and reached the championship match of the NEAC Tournament.

Cameron Leech was the 2018 NEAC Offensive Player of the Year after finished second in NCAA Division III with 3.75 assists per game and fourth with 6.13 points per game. Leech's 98 points and 60 assists were both school records.

Brad DePasquale was named to the first team with a 55.0 save percentage and an 8.83 goals against average, which were both third in the NEAC. Dillion Fields earned a place on the All-NEAC second team, while Shane McCurdy was selected to the third team.

Stockton University garnered six of the seven first-place votes available to top the poll with 48 points. Montclair State took home the other first-place vote and 38 points to end up second. Kean was third with 34 points.

Centenary (5th, 21 points), Rosemont (6th, 18 points), and Keystone (7th, 9 points) round out the poll.

Bryn Athyn opens the 2019 season on Wednesday, Feb. 27 when the Lions face Gwynedd Mercy on General Ronald K. Nelson Field at 4 p.m.
