Men's Soccer Roars Past Valley Forge Christian 5-2

Phoenixville, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team defeated Valley Forge Christian College 5-3 in Thursday afternoon action on the road.

Four different Lions scored in the victory.

Ik Jin Yu led the Lions with two goals and one assist. Alexander Pafford had one goal and two assists in the win.

The Patriots got on the scoreboard first in the 20th minute. Bryn Athyn tied the game two minutes later from an unassisted goal by Pafford. A minute later,  Jin Yu scored for the Lions to give them a 2-1 lead.

At the 29th minute, Blake McCurdy scored off a pass from Jin Yu. Before the half was over Jin Yu would score from a pass off Pafford, to give the Lions a commanding 4-1 lead.

Three minutes into the second half, the Patriots chipped away at Bryn Athyn's lead to bring them within two goals

Joel Borketey scored his first goal of the season at the 74th minute to give the Lions a 5-2 lead. Before the game was over, Valley Forge Christian scored to cut the Lions lead by two.

The Lions outshot the Patriots 32-15.  Dustin Synnestvedt and Johnny Walker split time in net.
