Dempster powers men's soccer to 3-0 win at Valley Forge

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – Martin Dempster scored the first two goals in his collegiate career to power the Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team to a 3-0 non-conference victory at the University of Valley Forge Tuesday afternoon.

After taking a 1-0 lead when the Patriots' Jesus Jimenez accidentally knocked a Matheus Souza corner kick into his own net at the 8:30 mark, Dempster found the back of the net for the first time at 21:57 to double the Bryn Athyn lead. Souza picked up an assist on the goal.

Dempster increased the gap to three when he scored an unassisted goal at 72:19.

Quentin Hager and Camden Cacolice both made two saves in the Lion (3-5) net to record the team's first shutout of the season. Hager played in the first half and recorded the win, while Cacolice took over the goalkeeper duties in the second 45 minutes.

Bryan Ardon stopped five shots for Valley Forge (2-10).

Bryn Athyn heads to Cazenovia for a North Eastern Athletic Conference match on Saturday, Oct. 7 at noon.
