Men's soccer tripped up at Cairn in final game of 2018

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team concluded its 2018 campaign with a 4-0 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to host Cairn University Tuesday afternoon.

Bryn Athyn ends the season with a 2-13-0 overall record, 0-6-0 against the CSAC. Cairn is now 12-3-1 overall and a perfect 6-0-0 in conference play.

The host Highlanders had three different players score in the opening 45 minutes to take a 3-0 lead at the halftime whistle. Joey Weaver opened the scoring at the 10:11 after receiving a through ball from Josiah Nistorenko. It remained 1-0 until the 37:04 mark when Jared Dodson found the back of the net. Timothy Smith closed out the first-half scoring at 41:15.

Weaver added his second goal of the afternoon with an unassisted tally at 55:02 to increase the margin to four.

Bryn Athyn's Shane McCurdy made six saves in his final appearance in goal for the Lions. Kameron Clark had three stops for Cairn.

Kevin Conroy led the Bryn Athyn offense with two shots on target, while Matheus Souza had one.
