Lions remain perfect in CSAC play with 6-3 win over Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's tennis team kept its unblemished Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record in tact thanks to a 6-3 conference victory over host Rosemont Saturday afternoon.

Bryn Athyn (3-3, 3-0 CSAC) was pushed to the edge in all three doubles matches by managed to come out on top in all three to take a 3-0 lead.

Jacob Elder and Zach Brock improved to 4-2 as a team by getting by Rosemont's top team of David Kleiner and Nick Tortorella, 8-6. Isaac Anderson and Vojtech Luza were victorious in their first match as a pair, squeaking past Tim Reiners and Zach Young, 8-7 (7-1) at No. 2. Matthew McCabe and Max Nelson completed the sweep by winning for the first time as a team at No. 3, 8-6 over Nick Gemmell and Chris Briner.

Brock notched his team-leading third singles victory of 2019 as he cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Tortorella at No. 2 singles. Cole Lambertus recorded his third straight victory thanks to a 7-5, 6-2 No. 4 win against Young. Nelson evened his record at 2-2 by defeating Briner in the No. 6 match, 6-2, 6-1.

Bryn Athyn will attempt to secure its spot in the CSAC championship match when the Lions take on Keystone on Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m.
