Men's tennis tripped up by Clarks Summit in CSAC finale

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's tennis team will be the number two seed for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament after a 7-2 loss to Clarks Summit University in a CSAC match Saturday afternoon on the Gladish Tennis Courts.

Bryn Athyn is now 4-5 overall and concludes CSAC play with a 4-2 record, while Clarks Summit goes to 7-2 overall and earns the top seed for the tournament at 5-0 in conference play.

The No. 2 doubles team of Zach Brock and Jacob Elder got the Lions on the board with an 8-3 victory over Hugh Hayner and Evan Michel. The victory gave Brock and Elder the season sweep of the Defenders' No. 2 duo. Brock and Elder are now a team-best 7-2.

Cole Lambertus notched the Lions' singles point and team-leading fifth singles win of the season as he outdueled Eric Bixby at No. 5 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.

Bryn Athyn will have two non-conference tune-ups prior to the start of the CSAC Tournament. The first will come on Tuesday, April 16 at Lancaster Bible at 3 p.m.
