BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Shane McCurdy (Bryn Athyn, Pa./ANC Boys School) recorded a fourth-place finish to lead the Bryn Athyn College men's cross country team in a dual match against Penn State Abington Friday afternoon on the Bryn Athyn campus.
McCurdy was the Lions' fastest runner as he completed the 4-kilometer course in a time of 15 minutes, 19 seconds, Alex Hyatt (Bryn Athyn, Pa./ANC Boys School) rounded out the top five after crossing the finish line in 15:24.
Tanner Condgon (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage) posted the sixth-place time of 16:08. Bryan Martinez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Cristo Rey Brooklyn) ended the afternoon with a time of 16:49 to take seventh. Mark Strange (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) ran the course in 17:29 for an eighth-place finish. Gaird Brock (Rochester Hills, Mich./Stoney Creek) came in ninth overall as he posted a time of 17:48.
Abington's Gregory Gallagher recorded the event-winning time of 14:25.
Bryn Athyn will head to Lorimer Park to compete in the Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 8:30 a.m.
