BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Head coach Jesse King has announced the 2018 schedule for the Bryn Athyn College men and women's cross country teams on Thursday.
The Lions are slated to compete in eight events in 2018—highlighted by a pair of races on the Bryn Athyn College campus.
Bryn Athyn will run against Penn State Abington in a dual 4-kilometer event on Sept. 5. Then on Sept. 28, the Lions host their annual Bryn Athyn College Invitational. The Invitational is a 6k race for the women and an 8k for the men.
The 2018 season gets underway on August 31 with the Lions traveling to Langhorne to run in the Cairn University 4k.
After taking on the Nittany Lions, Bryn Athyn will take part in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship at Belmont Plateau on Sept. 8. It is the first time that Bryn Athyn is running the race since 2015. The Lions will get a preview of the Colonial States Athletic Conference championship course the following week when they compete in the Cedar Crest Open at Bicentennial Park on Sept. 14.
Bryn Athyn makes the short trip to Abington's Lorimer Park for the Penn State Abington Invitational on Sept. 22. September ends for the Lions with the Bryn Athyn College Invitational.
The Lions have nearly three weeks off before their final tune-up ahead of the CSAC Championship when they take part in the Immaculata Invitational on Oct. 18.
Bryn Athyn will compete in its first CSAC Championship on Oct. 27 at Bicentennial Park in Bethlehem, Pa. The women's race has a 6k distance and the men's race is 8k.
