Lions fall to Rosemont in midweek CSAC clash

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Allie Warren scored a game-high 24 points for the Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team in an 85-47 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to Rosemont Wednesday night in Asplundh Field House.

Clayshonia Cogmon racked up 11 points, six rebounds, six steals, and three assists, while Alexis Mitchem added six points and four rebounds for the Lions (3-17, 3-9 CSAC).

Bryn Athyn shot 32.7 percent (17-of-52) from the field, including 35.7 percent (5-of-14) from 3-point range. The Lions had assists on 13 of their 17 baskets. Led by eight rebounds from Warren, the Lions grabbed 27 boards.

Rosemont (17-3, 11-0 CSAC) was led off-the-bench by Jayme Byers and her 16 points and eight rebounds. Ashley Murray and Shirle Brown added contributed 13 points. The Ravens made 52.8 percent (38-of-72) of their shots and racked up 45 rebounds.

The visiting Ravens controlled the game from the start as they shot 56.5 percent (13-for-23) from the field in the first quarter to get out to a 30-10 lead. Bryn Athyn shot 3-of-8 and turned the ball over 11 times.

Shawn Dowd shot 3-of-3 in the second quarter to record six of her game-total nine points in the second quarter as Rosemont extended its lead to 52-21 at the half. The Ravens took a game-high 78-36 lead with 5:40 left in the final quarter.

Bryn Athyn travels to Keystone for a CSAC clash on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m.
