Lions fall to Keystone

LA PLUME, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team suffered a 72-50 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to host Keystone College Saturday afternoon.

Allie Warren continued her strong scoring with a game-high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, 5-of-7 from behind the 3-point arc. Warren has now scored at least 20 points in three straight games and four of the last five.

Clayshonia Cogmon notched her 12 double-double of the year with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Keystone (11-10, 8-5 CSAC) controlled the game from the outset as the Giants outscored Bryn Athyn (3-18, 3-10 CSAC) 18-2 in the opening 5:14 of the first quarter. After the Giants pushed the lead up to 21-4, the Lions would end the first quarter on with six of the final nine points to close the gap to 24-10.

The Bryn Athyn momentum carried over to the second quarter as the Lions ran off six straight points to pull within 24-16 on a Cogmon layup with 6:24 left before halftime. Keystone closed out the half by posting 17 of the final 22 points to take a 41-21 lead at the break.

With Keystone leading 65-34 in the fourth, Bryn Athyn ended the game on a 16-7 surge. Warren drilled four 3-pointers to put up 12 points during the run.

Mac Oribello led Keystone with a team-high 17 points, 10 assists, and five steals, while Khaliah Gordon added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Giants shot 40.8 percent (29-of-71) from the field, 34.4 percent (11-of-32) from behind the arc. Bryn Athyn made 33.9 percent (19-of-56) overall, 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from 3-point range.

Bryn Athyn will play its final game in Asplundh Field House for the 2018-19 season when it hosts Wilson in a CSAC contest on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m.
