Galloway, NJ. – The Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Richard Stockton, 18-5 in Saturday afternoon action.
Sierra Asplundh led the Lions with three goals and picked up four grounded balls. Haley Schmucker and Erika Hyatt scored a goal each. Emma Gross led the defense with five ground balls and three draw controls.
The Ospreys took control of the game quick with two goals within the first four minutes of the half. Asplundh scored the lone goal in the first for the Lions with 24:07 left in the half. Stockton scored 13 unanswered goals in the first to take a commanding 15-1 lead going into the break.
Asplundh started the scoring, 43 seconds in the second half. The Ospreys answered with their own goal five minutes later. Schmucker scored with 21:16 left in the second. Stockton responded with a goal a minute later to extend their lead to 17-3. Hyatt capitalized on the extra man, to score with 12:06 left in the game. Asplundh would finish the scoring for the Lions with a minute left in the game. The Lions would fall 18-5, outscoring Stockton in the second 4-3.
The Lions will host future conference opponent College of St. Elizabeth on next Thursday at 4:00 pm.
