Women's Lacrosse Falls on the Road to Rosemont

Rosemont, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team fell on the road against Rosemont College 17-5 in Friday night action.

Haley Schmucker and Sierra Asplundh led the Bryn Athyn offense with two goals each. Erika Hyatt scored a goal for the Lions. Karla Hyatt made seven saves in net. 

The Ravens came out of the first half scoring three goals within the first six minutes. Asplundh took advantage of a failed Rosemont clear to put the Lions on the board at 22:33 in the first.  The Ravens would score five unanswered goals within seven minutes to extend their lead to 8-1. Asplundh would score her second goal of the night, after winning the draw control at 7:42. Rosemont would finish the first half scoring four goals to take a 10 goal lead at the half.

Rosemont scored two goals to start off the second half. Schmucker scored at 20:33, after Brettie Pitcairn missed a shot high.  Ravens kept on the offensive pressure, scoring back-to-back goals.  Bryn Athyn answered with back-to-back goals from Hyatt and Schmucker to bring the game to 16-5.  Rosemont finished the scoring with 34 seconds left in the game to take down the Lions 17-5. 

Bryn Athyn returns how on Thursday, March 17th for their last home game of the season against Cedar Crest. The game is set for 4:00 pm.
