Lennox scores nine as women's lacrosse defeats SUNY Poly 15-4

UTICA, N.Y. – Bri Lennox scored a program-record nine goals to power the Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse to a 15-4 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) triumph at SUNY Poly Friday afternoon on Wildcat Field.

Lennox—who also had an assist to become the first Lion to record two career 10-point games—broke the previous record of eight goals that was set by Haley Schmucker in a 21-5 victory over Lancaster Bible on March 25, 2014.

She also finished the game with eight draw controls and a season-high eight ground balls.

Chantal Farmer and Sabrina Colbridge both added two goals for the Bryn Athyn (6-1, 4-1 NEAC). Farmer pitched in defensively with five caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Laura Clymer contributed one goal and two assists, while Brenna Sweeney had one goal and one assist.

The match was closely contested early on with the teams playing to a 3-3 deadlock in the opening 10 minutes. Then, Lennox gave the Lions a bit of breathing room with back-to-back goals to make the score 5-3 with 12:29 left in the opening half.

After Mari Ames scored her fourth goal of the afternoon to pull the host Wildcats (3-6, 1-4 NEAC) within 5-4, the Lions dominated the rest of the match as they scored the final 10 goals of the contest.

Lennox led the surge with six goals, while Farmer added her two goals and Colbridge and Clymer scored once.

Bryn Athyn's Anja Weisser and SUNY Poly's Felicia Bianca both stopped nine shots.

The Lions owned a 29-16 shot advantage.

Bryn Athyn has seven days off before taking on Saturday, April 21 against Medaille on General Ronald K. Nelson Field at noon.
