Women's lacrosse falls to Morrisville State in regular season finale

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team ended the regular season with a 12-4 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss to host Morrisville State Saturday afternoon on Drake Field.

Bryn Athyn concludes the regular season with an 8-3 overall record. The Lions will be the number four seed for the upcoming NEAC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, May 1, after posting a 6-3 conference record.

Morrisville wraps up its regular season at 10-7 overall and in a three-way tie for the regular season title at 8-1.

Sabrina Colbridge led the Bryn Athyn offense with a pair of goals, giving her 99 career points. Bri Lennox and Kyla Rogers also scored for the Lions.

On the defensive end, Sarah Reed had six ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Gianna Ciacciareeli racked up five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Anja Weisser made a season-high 16 saves in net.

With Morrisville State leading 3-0, Colbridge got the Lions on the board with a free-position goal at the 13:08 mark to get the Lions within two. After consecutive Mustang goals widened the gap to 5-1, Lennox found the back of the net with 6:07 left in the half to make it a 5-2 game.

Morrisville State scored the final four goals of the half to lead 9-2 at the break.

The Mustangs' momentum carried over into the second half as they ran off three straight goals to take a 12-2 lead. Colbridge scored an unassisted goal and Rogers scored on a free-position shot in the final 3:30 to produce the final margin.

Courtney Cavellier (four goals, one assist) and Gianna Branca (three goals, two assists) both had five points to lead the Mustangs. Chelsea McNeal added two goals, while Jillian Hughes, Celia Abbott, and Makenzi Santini scored once.

Kallie George stopped six shots for the Mustangs.
