GANSEVOORT, N.Y. -- Bryn Athyn College swept the North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer weekly awards as forward Shelby Puccio (Southampton, Pa./William Tennett) was named the offensive player of the week and keeper Allie Warren (Tower City, Pa./Lebanon Catholic) took home the defensive player of the week award Monday.
Puccio—the NEAC offensive player of the week for the second straight week—continued her offensive tear as she scored five times in a pair of non-conference victories. She had both of the Bryn Athyn goals in a 2-0 triumph over Rosemont College on Sept. 6. In a 5-1 victory at Clarks Summit on Sept. 9, Puccio recorded three goals—her second three-goal game of the season.
In all of Division III, Puccio is currently ranked second in goals per game (2.67) and points per game (5.67), third in goals scored (8), and fifth in points (17). She is the NEAC leader in all four categories. The eight goals and 17 points are career highs and school records.
Warren posted 18 saves, a .947 save percentage, and allowed just one goal last week. She had a season-high nine saves in the shutout victory against Rosemont. Warren tied her season-high of nine saves as the Lions knocked off Clarks Summit.
In the NEAC, Warren tops the conference with a .333 goals against average and a .958 save percentage. She has made 23 saves in the team's three victories.
Bryn Athyn (3-0-0) hosts New Jersey City University in a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. on General Nelson Field.
