Women's soccer blanked by Morrisville State 4-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- The Bryn Athyn College women's soccer team was shut out by host Morrisville State 4-0 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match Sunday afternoon on Drake Field.

Shay Franklin broke the scoreless deadlock at the 32:12 mark of the opening half on a rebound after Elizabeth Brenchley starting the scoring sequence by hitting the post with her initial shot.

Jessica Adam scored two goals 6:34 into the second half to increase the Mustang (3-8-0, 3-2-0 NEAC) advantage to 3-0. Madison Shoemaker set up Adam's first goal with a through ball at the 47:46 mark. Just under four minutes later, Adam scored on a centering pass in the penalty area from Kelly Brennan.  

Brennan recorded Morrisville State's fourth and final goal on a chip shot at the 52:15 mark.

Allie Warren stopped 12 saves in the Bryn Athyn net, while Brianna Sorriento had two stops for Morrisville State.

Bryn Athyn (7-3-0, 3-2-0 NEAC) takes the field again on Saturday, Oct. 14 against Lancaster Bible at 7 p.m. on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.
