Women's tennis picks up first NEAC win of the season, 6-3 over Penn College

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's tennis team notched its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory of the season as the Lions knocked off Penn College 6-3 Saturday afternoon on the Gladish Tennis Courts.

The Lions (2-4, 1-2 NEAC) were awarded the first two points of the match because the Wildcats (1-9, 1-1 NEAC) showed up with only five players. Bryn Athyn was given victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Morgan Phillips and Marie Daum scored Bryn Athyn's third point with an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles over the Penn College duo of Meghan Herman and Amber Janelli.

Phillips and Daum went on to have success in singles play as well to score points for the Lions. Phillips was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Herman in a clash of No. 1s. Daum cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Janeilli to claim the No. 2 flight.

Alair Brock also got into the win column as she knocked off Alannah Fleck in the No. 5 flight 6-0, 6-0.

Bryn Athyn travels to the College of Saint Elizabeth for a NEAC match on Saturday, April 15 at noon.
