Women's tennis falls to Penn State Berks in NEAC Tournament semis

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's tennis team ended its 2018 season with a 5-0 loss to Penn State Berks in the semifinal round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament Wednesday night at the Birchwood Tennis Center.

Bryn Athyn—who was making its NEAC Tournament debut—finishes the season with a 3-7 overall record. Top-seeded Penn State Berks is now 8-5 and will face Penn State Abington on Thursday, April 26 at 10 a.m. for the conference title.

Morgan Phillips and Marie Daum gave the Nittany Lions' No. 1 doubles team of Caroline Bashore and Laura Youwakim a fight before falling 8-3. Penn State Berks won the other two doubles matches 8-0.

In singles action, Lurcrezia Pulcini defeated Alair Brock 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and Violet Tran was victorious at No. 4 over Maia Wyncoll 6-1, 6-1 to secure the win.
