MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Bryn Athyn College women's cross country recorded a program-best eighth-place finish in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Meet. This year's NEAC Championship was held at Morrisville State College Saturday morning.
The Lions--whose previous-best team finish in the NEAC Championship was ninth in 2016--tallied 211 points in the 11-team event.
Miranda Hyatt was Bryn Athyn's first runner to cross the finish line as she posted her second-best 6-kilometer time of the 2017 season of 29 minutes, 32.6 seconds. She was 27th in the 92-runner field.
Lianhua Lenihan recorded a time of 30:34.1 to end the event in 37th place. Alair Brock ha a time of 32:00.1, the second-best 6K time of her career, and was scored in 50th. Morgan Flynn's time of 32:26.4 allowed her to record a 54th-place finish. Breanna Sweeney claimed Bryn Athyn's final scoring position as she crossed the finish line with the 64th-place time of 33:28.0.
Danae Elder was 68th after posting a time of 33:28.0. In her first 6K race, Katharina Karrenbauer recorded the 71st-place time of 34:45.8. Emily Pizarro completed Bryn Athyn's lineup as she posted a career-best 6K time of 36:12.2.
Penn State Berks—led by individual champion Michelle Kiss who had the winning time of 24:55.3—won the NEAC championship with 63 points.
