Women's cross country begins season at Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship

PHILADELPHIA – The Bryn Athyn College women's cross country team opened the season at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship hosted by Jefferson University Saturday morning at Belmont Plateau.

Morgan Flynn completed the tricky 5-kilometer in a time of 25 minutes, 54.5 seconds to come in 73rd place in the 105-runner field. In her first-ever race at Belmont Plateau, Anwyn Brock posted the 94th-place time of 30:18.8.

Rowan University's Alyssa Sanders was the race winner with the first-place time of 19:57.3. West Chester University placed its five scoring runners inside the top-11 to claim the team title.

Bryn Athyn returns to action at the Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14 in Lorimer Park.
