Field hockey trio named to All-CSAC Team

ROSEMONT, Pa. – Bryn Athyn College's Eve Miller, Brittany Gunther, and Danielle News were selected to the All-Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) field hockey team that was released by the conference office Wednesday. The all-conference team was voted on by the conference's seven head field hockey coaches.

Miller was named to the All-CSAC first team, making her the second player in program history to earn a first-team selection. Gunther earned a place on the All-CSAC second team, while News was tabbed honorable mention.

In addition to the all-conference selections, Chantal Farmer was named to the All-CSAC Sportsmanship Team.

Miller was Bryn Athyn's top all-around player during the 2019 season. She finished second on the team with two goals and third on the Lions, fifth in the CSAC, with five defensive saves. Her goals came against Centenary (N.J.) on August 31 and Notre Dame (Md.) on October 25.

One of the best defenders in program history, Gunther ranked third in the CSAC with a career-high seven defensive saves. She set the program record for defensive saves in a game with four in the season-opener against Centenary (N.J.) on August 31.

News assisted on one goal this season, coming in the opener against Centenary (N.J.) on August 31.

Bryn Athyn finished the 2019 season with a 1-13 overall record, 0-6 against the CSAC.
