Lions tripped up by College of Saint Elizabeth in non-conference contest

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team suffered a 96-76 non-conference loss to The College of Saint Elizabeth Tuesday night in Asplundh Field House.

Lamarr Crenshaw led Bryn Athyn with 19 points and a game-high 11 rebounds to record a double-double for the fourth straight game, fifth overall this season. Crenshaw shot 6-of-13 from the field in 30 minutes of action.

Rahim Washington connected on seven of the 13 shots he attempted to finish with 17 points, while Larry Stevenson III came off-the-bench to add 12 points.

Saint Elizabeth (6-2) jumped out to an early 8-1 advantage, but Bryn Athyn (2-5) rattled off five straight points to close the gap to 8-6 on a Crenshaw 3-pointer—his only 3-point attempt off the game—four minutes into the contest.

With the Eagles leading 10-8, Saint Elizabeth outscored Bryn Athyn 12-4 over the next three minutes to take its first double-digit of the contest—22-12 at the 10:09 mark. Dante Lanzetta, who finished with nine points, brought the Lions back within four (22-18) after hitting 3-pointers on consecutive trips down the floor.

The Eagles would close out the final 5:34 of the first half on a 13-5 run, the final eight points coming from Ted Thelemaque, to lead 42-29 at the break.

After the Eagles pushed the margin up to 18 points (47-29), the Lions would a way to repeatedly get back within 12 points, the final time coming with 13:14 left when a Haybert Louchie 3-pointer made the score 56-44. In the 10-minute span, Saint Elizabeth would use a 32-18 run to take a game-high 26-point lead (88-62).

Thelemaque led the Eagles with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Jason Saldieveri added 14 points.

Bryn Athyn continues its three-game home stand with a non-conference clash against Haverford College on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
