TOWSON, Md. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team was defeated by Division I Towson University, 100-39, in an exhibition game and final preseason tune-up Friday night in SECU Arena.
Tariq Moore was Bryn Athyn's leading scorer with seven points and one of three Lions to grab three rebounds. Dante Lanzetta came off-the-bench to add six points, while Mike Jones and Haybert Louchie recorded five points. David King III and Raymond Borrows IV tied Moore with three rebounds.
All 11 Towson (2-0) players scored at least four points, led by Nigel Haughton's 17 points. Jason Gibson and Juwan Gray each contributed 12 points. Gibson also tallied five assists. Charles Thompson was the game's top rebounder with 17. Thompson added three blocked shots and four steals.
Towson shot 50.6 percent (43-of-85) from the field, 36.0 percent (9-of-25) from 3-point range. Bryn Athyn made 24.0 percent (12-of-50) of its shots. The Tigers owned a 51-22 advantage in rebounding.
Bryn Athyn begins the 2019-20 season on Friday, Nov. 15 against Widener at 8 p.m. in the opening round of the Widener Tip-Off For Autism Awareness.
