BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Tanner Schroeder scored his second goal of the season for the Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team in a 5-1 loss to Wilkes, ranked 14th in the Division III USCHO Poll, Tuesday night in Junge Pavilion.
The Colonels (11-2-0) struck twice in the first 6:39 of the contest by scoring twice in a span of 31 seconds. Nick Fea scored the first of three Wilkes power-play goals at 6:08 and was quickly followed up by a Dylan Kuipers tally.
Donald Flynn answered the Schroeder goal at 14:48 to allow Wilkes in regain a two-goal cushion.
Tyler Barrow scored the only goal of a very chippy second period on the power play to push the margin to 4-1 with 3:55 left in the stanza. The second period featured 10 minor penalties, seven against the Lions and three called on the Colonials.
Fea found the back of the net for the second time 8:12 into the third period for Wilkes' fifth goal.
Bryn Athyn goaltender Gabriel Couture made a career-high 45 saves in his first start in Junge Pavilion. Wilkes' Brandon Gordon turned aside 31 shots.
Bryn Athyn returns to action against Fredonia on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Revolution Ice Gardens at 4 p.m.
