LA PLUME, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team was defeated by host Keystone, 5-0, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match Wednesday night.
The Giants (7-4-1, 2-1-0 CSAC) did all of its first-half scoring in the opening 18 minutes of the contest. Daniel Zungia scored the first of his three goals just 5:05 in with an assist from Ibrahim Tounkara. Then, it was Tounkara putting his name in the goal column at the 17:12 mark to make the score 2-0. Zungia notched his second goal of the night just 48 seconds later for Keystone's third goal.
The score remained 3-0 until Zungia completed his hat-trick by converting a penalty kick with 5:01 left to play. Collin Cowles put Keystone's final goal on the board at 87:22.
Bryn Athyn keeper Michael Haas stopped a career-high 13 saves. Erick Gomez recorded two stops for the Giants.
Bryn Athyn (0-12-0, 0-3-0 CSAC) returns home to host Cairn in a CSAC clash on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
