Lions edged out by Gwynedd Mercy, 5-4

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's tennis team suffered a tough 5-4 loss to Gwynedd Mercy University Thursday afternoon on the Gladish Tennis Courts.

Zach Brock and Jacob Elder picked up their team-leading eighth doubles victory of the season by knocking off Tommy Moore and Vince Viola at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.

Brock later notched his fifth singles win of 2019 as he would defeat Viola again, this time at No. 3 singles, in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. Cole Lambertus earned his team-leading sixth victory in a hard-fought three-set match against Trevor Vitz in the No. 5 flight, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. At No. 6, Tanner Schroeder moved his singles to 4-3 with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Tommy Moore.

Bryn Athyn (4-7) will conclude the regular season with a home match against Neumann on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m.
