BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Led by an 11th-place finish from Tanner Congdon, the Bryn Athyn College men's cross country team recorded a fifth-place finish in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Preview Race held on the Bryn Athyn campus Thursday afternoon.
Congdon, Bryn Athyn's top runner for the fifth straight race, set a personal-best at the 8-kilometer distance of 33 minutes, 00.5 seconds. His previous best 8K time of 33:30.3 came in the 2017 Bryn Athyn College Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 13, 2017.
Isaac Syre posted a season-best 8K time of 36:26.2 as he crossed the finish line in 21st place. Azel Olivares made his collegiate debut and came in 28th with a time of 38:31.2. Justin Rallo's season-best 8K time of 39:34.8 landed his in the 35th position. Bennett Buick ran his first collegiate race in nearly two years and ended up with the 46th-place time of 53:13.8.
Bryn Athyn totaled 124 points in the seven-team event. Cairn placed all five of its scoring runners in the top-seven, including race winner Greg Snow who had a time of 29:38.9, won the team title with 19 points. Keystone was second with 74 points, while Rosemont came in third with 90 points.
Bryn Athyn will conclude its 2019 season when it hosts the CSAC Championship on Saturday, Nov. 2.
