Women's basketball defeated by Lancaster Bible in final game of the season

LANCASTER, Pa. – Morgan Phillips came off the bench to provide the Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team with a team-high 11 points and five rebounds in a 69-43 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss to host Lancaster Bible in the season finale Saturday afternoon.

Bryn Athyn concludes the 2017-18 season with a 6-19 overall record, 3-13 against the NEAC. Lancaster Bible, the NEAC southern division regular-season champion, is now 17-8 overall and 15-1 in conference play.

Clayshonia Cogmon and Zeniyah Sanders both added eight points, two steals, and two blocks. Anja Weisser and Cogmon paced the Lions in rebounding with six apiece.

Bryn Athyn struggled to gain traction for most of the game, falling behind 63-28 after three quarters of play.

The Lions put things together in the final 10 minutes, winning the fourth quarter 15-6. Bryn Athyn's defense controlled the quarter as the Lions held the Chargers to 9.1 percent shooting (1-of-11) and forced eight turnovers.  On the offensive end, Phillips led the way with five points and Allie Warren added four.

Courtney Goyak had 14 points and a game-high 18 rebounds for the Chargers. Caitlin Hickey was Lancaster Bible's leading scorer with game-high 18 points.

The Lions shot 25.8 percent (16-of-62) from the field and 71.4 percent (10-of-14) at the free throw line. The Chargers made 37.5 percent (21-of-56) of their shots and 77.4 percent (24-of-31) of their free throws.
