SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team picked up its first win of the 2018 campaign as the Lions picked up a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-17, 25-20) over host Penn State Schuylkill Wednesday night.
With the victory, Bryn Athyn improves to 1-2 overall and earned its first victory away from Asplundh Field House since Oct. 22, 2016—a 3-1 win over Cairn at King's (Pa.) College.
Hannah Dewees led the offensive attack for the victorious Lions with 11 kills and added six digs. Briana Cliney notched nine kills and finished the match .533, while Lex Juritsch had six kills and 13 digs. Janessa Lombardi racked up 26 assists and seven digs. Chloe Levan recorded a match- and career-high 25 digs. Allaina Brock had four of the Lions' nine service aces.
Alexis Bowser had six kills to lead Penn State Schuylkill (0-1).
The Lions will look to make it two in a row over the Nittany Lions as the two teams will meet up a tri-match at Albright on Saturday, Sept. 8 at noon. Bryn Athyn squares off with host Albright at 2 p.m. on Sept. 8.
