BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's cross country team got to perform in front of its home crowd and turned in a second-place finish in the Bryn Athyn College Invitational on Friday evening.
The Lions posted a combined team score of 36 points, just three points shy of Jefferson University's winning score of 33. Penn State Berks had 56 points to take third.
Natalie Daum continued her solid season as she led the Lions with a season-best 6-kilometer time of 27 minutes, 25.5 seconds on a wet, muddy course. Daum wound up third in the 19-runner field.
Alair Brock fought off the sloppy conditions to set a personal-best 6K time of 29:37.1 to finish the event in 6th place. Gracelyn Bullard ended the day in seventh place after crossing the finish line in 30:03.8.
Lianhua Lenihan claimed ninth with a time of 31:29.7. Danae Elder was Bryn Athyn's final scoring runner after stopping the clock with the 11th-place time of 33:44.1.
Sierra Heinrichs rounded out the Lions' lineup as she set a personal best 6K time of 39:27.3.
PSU Berks' Mikaela Smith was the individual winner with a time of 25:10.4.
Bryn Athyn now has three weeks off before competing in the Immaculata Invitational—the final tune-up before the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship—on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m.
