Box Score 2 Bryn Athyn, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team picked up first win of the season against Williamson, 3-2.
Blake McCurdy led the Lions with one goal and two assists. Chris Hyatt put in one goal and one assist. Scott Merrill notched in a goal.
From a pass off McCurdy inside the 18-yard line, Merrill put in the first goal of the game to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, the Mechanics tied the game 1-1 off a goal from Sean O'Donnell.
Hyatt's goal snapped the 1-1 tie in the 39th minute. The Lions offense kept the pressure on by putting 11 shots on goal before the break.
With less than 20 minutes in the second half, McCurdy notched in a security goal to lift the Lions to victory. The Mechanics scored a goal in the 81st minute to cut the Lions lead to one, but it would not be enough.
Raul Figueroa played the first half in goal and made two saves in net. Kim Ji Hoon played the second half between the pipes and made two saves.
Bryn Athyn will host Gwynedd Mercy College on Monday, Sept. 22nd. Kick off is set for 4:30 pm.
