Student-Athlete Academic Success Resources
Student-Athlete Study Hall
Weekly Study Hall is an important element in helping every BAC Student-Athlete maintain good academic standing, both during and outside of, the student’s specific competition season. It is also a primary avenue for developing in the student-athlete an appreciation for the connection between academic and athletic accountability, expectations and sustained success. Most importantly, it helps to ensure every team member is presented the opportunity and academic resources to realize a college experience that maximizes the student’s abilities and potential. Two (2) hours of Study Hall are required weekly and may be fulfilled by attending any one of the following: ASC Tutoring, extra help from a BAC Professor/Instructor or a prescheduled athletic team study hall monitored by a coach or BAC Staff member. Any student-athlete with questions about the parameters and expectations for Study Hall should consult their head coach and/or Director of the Academic Support Center (ASC).
Study Hall is required for any student-athlete falling under any one of the following criteria:
- Freshmen in their first academic term of attendance at BAC
- Transfer students in their first academic term of attendance at BAC
- Students w/a Cumulative GPA below 2.5
*Note: If an athletic team has a regularly scheduled study hall, then 2 hours of participation are required in that study hall to fulfill the weekly 2-hour requirement. If a student attends 1 hour of either ASC or Professor’s Extra Help, that fulfills the 2-hour weekly requirement.
