Berks Too Much for the Lions

Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team fell to North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent PSU-Berks 5-2 in Tuesday afternoon action.

Blake McCurdy had a career high two goals. Ryan Pickard and James Lindrooth both notched assists each.

PSU-Berks got on the board quickly, putting up two goals in the first half.

McCurdy had a chance 10 minutes into the half to chip away at the Nittany Lion lead, but his shot went just wide.

Berks notched another goal to take a 3-0 lead at the 57 minute mark.

Lindrooth then pushed the ball up the field from a defensive position, deked through traffic, and found McCurdy who crashed post side and scored to chip away at the Nittany Lion lead.

However, Berks didn't let go of their momentum, scoring two more goals to take a 5-1 lead.

With seconds left in the game, Berks made an error on a corner kick. Pickard then brought the ball up the left side of the pitch and created some distance from the Nittany Lions. He found McCurdy sprinting up the field, passed a forward ball, and caught McCurdy's feet. McCurdy took a shot on goal, but the ball was rebounded back to his feet, and he took another shot to score with three seconds left on the clock.

Dustin Synnestvedt made 11 saves in goal.
