Box Score Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team fell to PSU-Abington 5-1 in Thursday afternoon action.
Blake McCurdy scored the lone goal for the Lions. He has scored a goal in every contest so far this season. Ik Jin Yu got the assist.
The Lions were scoreless in the first half. PSU-Abington notched three goals going into the break.
After regrouping, the Lions came out on the attack in the second half. At the 79th minute, Jin Yu brought the ball up the pitch, weaving through traffic. McCurdy started his run down the left side of the field, with some distance from his defender, Jin Yu sent a through ball, catching McCurdy at the top of the 18 yard line. After taking some step to get himself lined up, he shot the ball to the top right of the net to cut at the Nittanny Lion lead.
Before the game would end, PSU-Abington notched two insurance goals to win the game.
Johnny Walker made 10 saves in net for Bryn Athyn.
The Lions return to the field tomorrow to face Briarcliffe at 4:00 pm on the Lower Soccer Field.
