Box Score Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team fell at their home opener against Baptist Bible 4-0 in Thursday afternoon action.
Both teams played tough for the first 20 minutes before the Defenders got on the board. Baptist Bible scored their goal of a counterattack through the middle of the field.
The Lions played the Defenders tough and kept them to a one goal lead heading into the break.
Off a long ball, Baptist Bible's offense broke through the Bryn Athyn defense to score their second goal three minutes into the second half.
The Lions had a chance to cut the Baptist Bible lead to one, when a shot was served to the box and Greg Synnestvedt headed the ball, but the Defenders goalie stopped the shot.
The Defenders scored two more times before the game was over to secure their win.
Johnny Walker made nine saves in net for the Lions.
The Lions head to Wesley College this Saturday for a 1:00 pm kickoff.
