Men's Soccer Falls to Cobleskill 3-2 in Double OT

Bryn Athyn, Pa. The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team lost 3-2, in double overtime to SUNY Cobleskill in NEAC conference action Saturday afternoon.

Usufu Johnson led the Lions with two goals. Jacob Dillon added an assist in the one goal loss. 

The Fighting Tigers scored first to the take the lead in the first half. Bryn Athyn tied the game two minutes later, Dillon served the ball from a corner kick to Johnson, who headed it in to tie the game. Both teams tied in shots 3-3 going into the break.

Cobleskill scored early in the second half to retake an one goal lead.  The Fighting Tigers had a chance to increase their lead off a hand ball foul in the penalty box, but goalkeeper Johnny Walker made the save to keep the Lions in the game.  In the final minutes of the game, the Lions got a penalty kick for a foul in the box. Johnson scored off a penalty kick rebound to tie the game 2-2. The Lions would go into overtime out shooting the Fighting Tigers 13-6. 

The score remained scoreless in the first 10-minute overtime. Cobleskill scored in the last minutes of the second overtime to take home the conference win.

Johnny Walker made four saves in the first 65 minutes of game. Ryan Weinkopff made four saves in last 45 minutes of the game.

Bryn Athyn returns to the field tomorrow at 1:00 pm to take on SUNYIT in conference action.
