Box Score Bryn Athyn, PA - The men's soccer team deliver a strong second half to gain a 2-0 victory over Cazenovia in NEAC play on Sunday.
The first half saw both the Lions and Wildcats create many opportunities. The shot totals were 8 for the Wildcats and 7 for the Lions. The Lions Goalkeeper Ryan Weinkopf made 4 saves in the half.
In the second half, the Lions came out roaring, generating 4 shots in the first 9 minutes. When in the 54th minute, Usufu Johnson was able to score his first goal of the year off an assist from Jeremey Beese. Then after Alejandro Medina corner kick and pressure from the Lions, Siafa Dempster was able to put the Lions up 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 74th minute.
The Lions were able to shut the Wildcats down for the remainder of the half and hold on for the 2-0 win.
The win moves the Lions to 7-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the conference.
The Lions are back in action on Friday October 16th as they travel to Penn State Berks for 7:00 pm NEAC game.
