Box Score Bryn Athyn, PA - The men's soccer team lose season finale against Penn College in heartbreaking 2-1 loss in overtime.
In the season finale the Lions were hoping to end the season on high note. The Lions battled Penn College with the play going back and forth. Until the Lions were able to break the tie, after a Jacob Dillon corner kick, Joseph Nyumah was able to put the ball in the back of the net in the 39th minute. The first half ended with the score 1-0, shot totals were 6-5 in favor of the Lions.
The second half opened with the Lions generating 6 shots in the first 10 minutes of the half. Siafa Dempster and Daouda Camara had 2 shots a piece that they were unable to extend their lead. The missed opportunities would be costly as Penn College was able to tie the game up in the 83rd minute. The game ended in 1-1 sending the Lions season finale into overtime.
In the first overtime, the Lions had the better of the play, creating 3 corner kick opportunities, but BAC could not finish the game off. Then in the second overtime, Penn College ended the game and ended the Lions season with a goal in the 105th minute.
The Lions end their season with a 8-9-1 overall record and 4-7-1 in the conference. Coach Dan Perez has the mens program moving in the right direction with a great recruiting class in 2015. The team turned around a season a year ago where the Lions only won a single game in the conference. This season the Lions battled in each NEAC game, with a season highlight of an impressive 1-0 win over undeafeated Keuka. The future looks bright for the men's soccer program under Coach Dan Perez.
