Men's Soccer rally to Beat SUNY Cobleskill 6-1

Cobleskill, NY- The men's soccer team rally back from 1-0 deficit to beat SUNY Cobleskill 6-1, moving the Lions record 2-2-1 in the conference and 6-4-1 overall.

The Lions traveled to Cobleskill, NY to take on SUNY Cobleskill in NEAC action. The Lions were controlling the game, but gave up a goal in the 26th minute by Todd Briggs. In the 35th minute, the Lions were able to tie up the score when Jacob Dillon was able to jump on a loose ball in front of the net. Not even 2 minutes later, the Lions went ahead when Edgar Rodriguez scored his first collegiate goal on cross from Brennen McCurdy. The first half ended with the Lions leading 2-1.

The second half started with the Lions opening up the scoring, when Daouda Camara scored an unassisted goal in the 49th minute. This was a sign of things to come as the Lions exploded for 3 more goals. Alejandro Medina scored a blast from 20 yards out in the upper corner. Then it was time for the freshmen from the Lions to finish out the scoring when Joseph Nyumah scored his first collegiate goal by hitting a blast from 25 yards out beating the SUNY Cobleskill keeper in the 85the minute. Finally Jeremey Beese scored his first collegiate goal, beating the Cobleskill keeper one on one in the 89th minute.

The victory over SUNY Cobleskill moves the Lions to 2-2-1 in the NEAC and 6-4-1 overall. The Lions are currently in 5th place in the conference. 

The Lions roadtrip continues tomorrow October 5th,  when they are back in NEAC action on the road against SUNY Poly at 12:00 pm.
