Box Score Marcy, NY- The men's soccer team traveled to SUNY Poly today, where the Lions were defeated 1-0.
The first half could not have started any better for Coach Perez and the Lions. The Lions dominated play in the Wildcats end. Farid Amari and Daouda Camara were both denied goals by Wildcats keeper, Jesse Yanarella, early in the game. Edgar Rodriguez later in the half was denied on two opportunities in the 26th and 30th minute by the Wildcats keeper, who had to make 5 saves on 10 shots by the Lions.
The second half was a different story with the Lions being down a man, seeing the Wildcats control the flow of the game. Goalkeeper Ryan Weinkopf saw 13 shots, 3 on goal and was able to make 1 save in the second half. The Wildcats converted on a penalty kick in the 75th minute and free kick in the 76th minute.
The loss moves the Lions to 6-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the NEAC.
The Lions are back home for Charter Day weekend to host two NEAC games. The Lions host Morrisville St. on Saturday October 10th at 2:00 pm and the host Cazenovia on Sunday October 11th at 1:00 pm
