Box Score Bryn Athyn, Pa- The Bryn Athyn Men's soccer team picked up its 4th win of the year with a 4 goal second half against Valley Forge University.
The Lions opened up the scoring in the 20th minute with a breakaway goal from Daouda Camara. The rest of the half saw the Lions controlling the flow of play missing many opportunities. Goalkeeper Damilare Adeleye stopped both shots on goal in the first half.
The Lions came out roaring in the second half as Usufu Johnson scored an unassisted goal in the 54th minute. Then a few minutes later Alejandro Medina assisted Farid Amari in the 59th minute. The scoring did not stop there, when in the 66th minute Daouda Camara assisted Matheus Souza on his first college goal. Matheus then added his second college goal in the 70th minute to finish out the Lions best goal total of the year.
Coach Perez said after the game, "We started slow, we couldn't find our rhythm in the first half. After half time, we finally understood that we win as a team. Our guys wanted to keep possession of the ball, and that got us 4 more goals. It truly was a team effort."
The Lions are back in action on Saturday September 19th with their first NEAC league game when they travel to Penn State Abington at 2:00 pm.
