Box Score Abington, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn men's soccer team lost a close game on Saturday 2-1 to PSU Abington in the first NEAC game of the year.
What a difference a year makes as Dan Perez and the BAC Lions took the field today to revenge a 4-0 loss last season at the hands of the PSU Abington Lions. But early on the Nittany Lions took 1-0 lead on a Richard Domico assisted by Andrew Costa. The score would stay that way to the end of the half.
The Bryn Athyn Lions started the second half putting a lot of pressure on the PSU back line. When in the 59th minute Farid Amari headed in a long throw in from Sabastien Rosaro. The teams spent the next 15 minutes battling back and forth and creating chances on each end of the field. Then in the 73rd minute, Dimitri Bourlako headed in a cross from Richard Domico.
The Lions pressured the PSU back line for the remainder of the game, creating many opportunities to tie the game up. The Lions were not able to get that goal and lost their first NEAC game of the year in a heartbreaker.
The Lions are back in action next Saturday 9/26 as they travel to Wilson for their second conference game of the year.
